In this session, parents will gain confidence in Metis-style art inspired by Leah Marie Dorion's "My First Metis Lobstick" through a book reading and mixed media activity for children/youth over 12.

In this session Metis Artist Leah Marie Dorion who will read her children’s book, “My First Metis Lobstick,” (2014) published by GDI Press. She will then lead a “Make and Take” mixed media art activity inspired by the story.  In this session parents will learn about the story and grow in confidence to do Metis style inspired artwork with their older children/youth. This book and art activity is for an audience of children/youth over age 12.
